New attendance guidelines for conflicting health advice!

Managers should now contact their Regional Health Lead (RHL) when advice from a GP differs substantially from that of OH assist.

The change to the Attendance Agreement has been jointly agreed with the CWU and Unite/CMA.

Once the difference in advice has been reported, the RHL will review the case by speaking to OH. If the case cannot be resolved, with written permission from the employee, the RHL will make contact with the GP.

If it still isn’t resolved, a face to face appointment with an OH physician will be arranged to determine the final outcome. The RHL will confirm this to the appropriate manager, who will inform the employee verbally and in writing.

In cases where the employee has been advised to return to work but does not, the manager should contact HR Advice and Support.

The Attendance Agreement booklet has been updated online to reflect the change.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

And who is the Regional Health lead?
Someone with some sort of actual medical qualification? Or, more likely, a manager whose job is actually to improve a certain set statistics, without consideration for the wellbeing of the staff member concerned or the fact that an extra 2 weeks off (covered by a fully fit person perhaps on OT) and they'll be back and performing much better than if they had returned too early and putting unnecessary pressure on an office?

Why is the union agreeing to s**t like this? No layman is going to trump my GP, and that's a fact.

The union seem to be agreeing to anything put in front of them at the moment without any input from the membership whatsoever. :coolr

Although not ideal ,this seems better than a manager passing you fit and trying to force you back to work.

I would like somebody from the CWU to explain to me how exactly they have advanced our terms and conditions by agreeing to that s**t.

Yeah...who is the Regional Health Lead?

Is it that disgusting job Royal Mail has created for manager's on a high pay grade without a sustainable position anymore, who have been asked to bully member's suffering with illness's out of the business?

I'd like to know who the Regional Health Lead in East Anglia is? anyone know please?
