No new recruits?

Due to have some new recruits starting soon but apparently they've been stopped from higher up. As a result DOM has stopped anymore AL for the rest of the year as we're short staffed.

Anyone know what's going on?

I've heard that in our office as well. They can't even start the process until October, so the the new recruits should be ready to start by about.....January! Handy.

I think the OP means no new a/l granted until the New Year.

can't cancel already authorised leave, but could refuse any further short term, which could lead to a lot of leave needed to be taken in march,
i know RM allow holidays to be carried forward, but legally you can demand them before the year ends
i.e you could have loads off in march with new bills coming in and a general election looming, though i reckon the latter will kick off in april

We are only a small office and severely understaffed, was promised 2 P/T in April and that never happened, questioned the dim about staff recruitment and he said no new staff are being recruited nationally by Royal Mail till September, not holding my breath about that date either

Well that isn't true , we have had 5 or more start in our office in recent weeks.
Management telling lies? Good grief,where will it end?
