on assumption that they will be sold at the upper end the government have stated £3.30 per share ( even though they have undersold us ) and at the £2000 RM have stated will be given to Members of staff. ( pro rata )

The current upper valuation of for the entire business is £3.3 billion.
The current upper valuation per share is £3.30.
That means they are allocating one billion shares.
10% of that divided by 150,000 staff will give you a ball park figure...around 660.

RM didn't state that.
They said the value would be around £2000.
We get 10% of the shares issued no matter the value.
If they are valued at £3.30 our shares might be worth around £2,200 at opening.
If they are at the lower end of £2.60 they will be worth around £1,700.

Certain red braces wearing city boys are predicting a high of around £4.15 on the opening day which might value your shares at as much as around £2,700 but it will just be phantom money again to the majority of us since we can't touch them until october 2016 at the earliest and october 2018 if you don't want to pay tax.

As for after 3 years you would have to pay tax but if this is lower than your capital gains tax threshold of £10,900 does this not count. I am sure most posties don't use there tax free allowance every year. Please correct me if I am wrong

It's like getting £15 - £20 extra per week for 3 years , but all at once if were to cash them in , minus tax. Let's hope they rise sharply .

The rules for SIP's are that the free shares are effectively part of your pay until the 5 years is up, so you may have to pay income tax & NI if you leave or sell within the 3-5 year period. You don't pay tax or NI if you leave for 'good reasons' anytime during the 5 years.

CGT is only potentially payable when you sell the shares, and then only if your total capital gains for the tax year in question is over the limit, which is £10,900 for 2013/14.

DM 7.50 or if the euro still exists €3.75, I think they can transfer shares to the Deutsche Borse quite easily after a takeover
