Can we claim for uniform cleaning

Quick question can we claim from HMRC for tax relief for cleaning our uniform as my Dad works for the NHS and he is able to do so. If we can does anybody what form we use to claim?.

Tell us what your tax code is,chances are you've already got it.
Mine is 759/L,normal should be 747/L without the allowance,most of us should have the same code.

You haven't got the cleaning allowance,see the link posted above by Biker on how to fix it.

i started last september and noticed i was on 747 so a quick call to the tax office and they changed my code to 759.
thats £120 a year extra you earn without paying tax on.

you are paying tax on £30 a year unnecessarily then! which means you are about £7 a year worse off
hardly the end of the world, but id still phone the tax office and get it changed to 759

I'll phone them tomorrow, I had to wear a uniform in my old job as well which had the company logo on it and never ever claimed for it I'm going to chance with that as well and see if it can get some of that back as well. Muzzy I'm going to check my tax code for last year as well, thanks for your help

Then you will be able to claim for those years.
