Royal Mail will go out of business

Post by hampshireman »

At an office 'huddle' this morning. Doom and gloom from the DOM.

Our Postcode area is over budget.

... and if you don't do more absorbing;you must cover other rounds; you cannot claim excess; do extra for nothing etc, etc

Then come April ; you wont have jobs!!!Royal Mail will have gone out of business and noone will have a job.

Now this is scare tactics of the highest order!!! There are some people in my DO who no doubt will have gone home to their wives/husbands and said

' if I don't work for free then i might not have a job'

I do not accept this crap. But some will.

What an utterly , appallingly mis-managed place this is.

Has anyone else has this rubbish spouted at them?

Out of order , but true!!

And you know the really sad thing. Some people still rushed around today (doing their extra) and finished early.

You could not make it up.

I remember the thread.

I believe that has always been the projected date for lack of money.

But the bottom line is that RM will not go out of business. It will be part sold ; privatised or whatever.

My point is that RM Management are trying to scare people to do extra for the square root of f all!!!

That is patently not right.

Why should anyone bleed for RM ; so that bonuses can be paid to management grades.

But will people listen and react accordingly?

I doubt it

prehaps the DOMs will give thier huge bonuses back that they make on the back of putting people on sick warnings they should not be on, not reporting accidents as it effects thier targets, telling porkys about offices being clear when parcels are in yorks for days on end, etc etc!!

Jessie;

What you have top see is that it is all bull.

It's a tactic designed to scare people; no more , no less.

It has to be treated with the contempt it deserves

Royal Mail will not go out of business. The Government can't allow it.

Now, if things are really that bad then RM could go for some sort of bankruptcy protection so that they could restructure the business while it's still running (the entire board and most of the senior management would be removed and court appointed accountants put in to fix what they've done).
Also remember that if RM went under then there would be nobody to deliver any mail (the DSA leeches would also fold because they couldn't deliver the mail that they're paid to deliver :nervous ).

i remember they told us we were going out of business back in 2003.
At the time we were losing over £1million per day...funny how things change....or don't.
We weren't really going out of business then.....and we're not now.

Call their bluff, tell them to go out of business. Ultimately, there will always be some kind of national postal service whether RM is the company running the show or not.
