new office this week - the week of hell?
Well tomorrow Im in an office other than my own as some of you may know
But im not using to car to transport me the extra 20 miles why should I?
Im going to be at my office at 6am and it is then their job to get me to my destination some 30 minutes away
Their ofice is a 630am start, my lino/dom hasnt said anything to me about it since wednesday when i raised concerns about sa's. The response " oh dont worry"
In fact im becoming more f****d off every minute, for all i care im on a 6am-2pm day so
600 arrive at my normal office
601 look at linos face distort as he realises he needs to get me to said office
602 im guessing having to explain that im not driving and im only insured to drive to my normal place of work
605 lino finally doing something after no doubt slating me to his other numpties in managers offices.
630 arrive at new office
631 look on in dismay as ive not been for 4 years and all the rounds are massive - ignore fellow strike breakers
???? get out sometime in the morning, after prepping 20% d2d and photographing any SCAB mail that they didnt deliver saturday ?( 100% strikebreakers here boys)
1250 begin meal break
1330 begin travelling back to my office
1400 end of hell
who wants to bet that my manager wont have me picked up at 1330>?
there is no way he can as no duties come by until after 1430
I have childcare issues as of 1430 *
* not strictly true but who gives a s**t its my time
Now where do I stand as i know i will NOT be picked up at the right time, if at all.
Wed thu fri i have sa's that start at 1430 in my office , where do i stand here if they dont get me back? i cant afford to lose them as the strike is costing me and us all dear, what if im not picked up on time> can i refuse to go tuesday as i know i wont be transported back it s not fair
i hate the way royal mail is run, and managers are allowed to pickon people and sends reps like me ot scab offices. its a disgrace

If you are planning to spin them a line about childcare issues mate, probably best not to brag about it on here.

Little reminder - you should take at least 20mins of your MR within 5 hrs of starting your shift ( and your linos should ensure that happens ), so can you imagine the DOMs face as you waltz off from your frame in the middle of prep / be the last to finish tying up then go for your full 40 mins, then come back and say "Not going to be able to complete, so I'll be cutting off, boss!"
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

I was sent to an SPDO last year, I don't have a car, they thought I did you should've seen their faces when i told them
So I told them they would have to get me out there and I would book from the minute I walked into my DO and the minute I returned, needless to say I was only out there 5 weeks
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Re: new office this week - the week of hell?
it doesn't matter if you have a car or not, your part of the bargain is to get to your permanent place of work. as long as you get to your office for 6.00am the jobs done. as for getting back on time [which is your right] there's the tricky part. make sure you you tell the dim at your office and the office you are going to that you have to be back on time in front of witnesses and ask what arrangements will be made to ensure this. if cutting off tell them in plenty of time. as you say travelling time is part of your working day. good luckmandelsons_toenail wrote:i have a car but its insured SD + P to your permanent place of work, im not leaving my car in a scummy area like where im going, its too nice a car and likely to be stolen or vandalised

What does it say in your contract. Does it stipulate an actual address for work. If it does they great if it doesnt suck it up, As it looks like your being awkward for the sake of being awkward.
