Scotland manager suspensions.
About six weeks ago there was a brief report in the paper about several high up Glasgow/West of Scotland managers being suspended for fraud. It seems they had the names and addresses of panellists used to independantly test the efficiency of Royal Mail.By ensuring these people got their mail they were falsifying the quality of service figures and consequently their own bonuses. What has happened? How many were suspended? Are they still under suspension ? (Or off pay?).Can anyone name them?Any information would be great.

A quick reminder of the site rules mate
Except for nationally known personalities please do not name any individuals on here, rather use their 'work title' or 'my/a colleague' instead.

I know what the site rules are but these are people who have potentially stolen tens of thousands of pounds.I do not see why they should escape public scrutiny.A postie who steals ten porno videos and some knickers can be named but a manager who lies and cheats to bolster his already considerable salary can remain anonymous.Doesnt seem quite right.

The difference being that the Posties name is in the public domain because he has been found guilty of a crime and therefore has had is day in court and its been reported in the press (thats why we ask for a link if you name someone). The managers have not yet been charged with anything, and in law they are innocent until proven guilty, and if anyone does know there names its privileged information, which if divulged could mean 2 things happen.clashcityrocker wrote:I know what the site rules are but these are people who have potentially stolen tens of thousands of pounds.I do not see why they should escape public scrutiny.A postie who steals ten porno videos and some knickers can be named but a manager who lies and cheats to bolster his already considerable salary can remain anonymous.Doesnt seem quite right.
1. The person naming the managers could be prosecuted in either a criminal or civil court.
2. RoyalMailChat could be closed down by a court order, and all our members would loose a valuable resource.

And don't forget: When/if they're charged. There will be something in the Press, so their names will enter the Public Domain. Once that happens, it won't just be members of RMC who'll know who they are. But anyone else who reads the artice in the Paper. Or hears it in the news (if they become interested).
I removed the names, not just because of the breach of the rules. But as Teebs has pointed out. Also to prevent legal action against RMC and (if they know who you are) you too. People have got into trouble for things they've posted on RMC, and many other sites. They're not worth it, when the Press will give out their names in due course anyway, are they?

Re: Scotland manager suspensions.
Unless of course the whole thing is quietly swept under the carpet and some people are allowed to take early retirement to spend more time with their families. The point of naming them is not to shame them but to understand how rotten the management structure is on the West Coast of Scotland;to try to find out how far up the food chain this goes.It seems clear that every DOM in Glasgow at least had a list of "key customers".The mail of these customers was not allowed to fail under any circumstances because it was known that these people were working independantly of Royal Mail to test the efficiency of the company. This is how they massaged the figures. This is how they bolstered their bonuses - bonuses paid for by our wage freeze and the cuts in our offices. So where did that information come from and who knew?If you think this is going to come out in the press ever you must be an eternal optimist.andy2007 wrote:And don't forget: When/if they're charged. It is no coincidence that Glasgow has been the site of wildcat strikes. The management is rotten to the core.
Victory to the Glasgow Mail Centre.

Re: Scotland manager suspensions.
You may be right. There have been cases, where it's been swept under the carpet. But there have also been cases where senior people have been charged. For example: The IB Manager, who was prosecuted for stealing, a while back.
I am genuinely sorry that I had to remove the names. And I completely understand why you're upset about it. But please understand why I did. I've no desire to stop you telling everyone what happened. Far from it! They can't be allowed to get away with it. But it is, possible to keep us informed without using their names.

Re: Scotland manager suspensions.
The investigation is ongoing. They are using a hotel near the SECC because the suspended managers are not allowed on RM premises.
The most senior manger was named in several press reports, but I wont name him here. He was the Area manager for North territory and was supposedly on 100 grand a year (before bonus

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Scotland manager suspensions.
If a group of postmen had got together to somehow defraud RM of 6 or 7 figures say, it would have been front page news for days on end, but when its the managers on the take you hardly hear a peep, good old Adam with the broom out sweeping it under the carpet :cfo
