350 years of history
Royal Mail is quite rightly proud of it's 350 year history and promotes the fact to its advantage. It seems quite likely that in the long run it'll be bought out entirely by private corporations, which begs the question: would a private corporation have the right to buy and trade on RMs history?

No different to any other company such as BT, DERA/QinetiQ. Qinetiq could trace its roots back to WWII and developed the LCD and radar amongst other things but governments dont give a hoot about any of that.
