The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Well HQ can either deny it or ignore it.
If they're going to deny it they better sound convincing and have at least some evidence to back up the denial.
Most members know about Billy's £29k but they aren't aware of how widespread this "practice" has been.
The situation with the pensions has been bleeding members money for years and despite promises to address the situation nothing of note has been achieved,it is something that could drag the union under.

If they are going to ignore it members and branches will read into that silence whatever they will....
I will know exactly what to think.

As for calling the authors cowards, burying your head in the sand is far more cowardly. :cuppa

For once Fishtank I disagree, most members in my area would find it hard to name the general secretary nevermind how much nice little earners he pockets.Im sure they will have perfectly good explanation ;liar

I'd be surprised if anyone was surprised by the document - except of course for the lick spittles who'd support them whatever the weather. Most people with a modicum of common sense can see there is a definite aroma of a trawlers hold about the unions officers and affairs. It must be true that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I would like to applaud the authors of this document and sincerely hope that I see a rectification of the anomalies outlined and that those responsible are removed from office. These guys are obviously both in the know and seriously concerned about what is going on. The proof of the pudding will be the sale of the two elements named.

Oh dear and its not getting any better for Mr Hayes http://www.londonlovesbusiness.com/busi ... 63.article" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;?

It is a typical Right Wing attack though and not very informative.

Not exactly photogenic is he? How embarrassing not to know what you are paid - or alternatively be too embarrassed to reveal it. I think it's time for a clean sweep at HQ, we've been had for mugs long enough.

Before anyone asks "Do you believe both documents?" - absolutely I do - at the very least people should be having reservations about what is going on down there in Lunnun - our leader is from Liverpool..........................park up there and you're liable to come back to a wheelless, doorless hulk

“ “I don’t apologise for my salary, it’s what the members of our union decided.”my salary was agreed before I took office"
Indeed it was Billy but...the membership has shrunk dramatically since then, costs have increased and revenue has decreased and the only way that we have been able to afford to continue to pay your salary and others at HQ...and cover the expenses and the cars and feed the CWU pension pots and pay for trips to Washington,Germany and South America is by increasing subs and decreasing our ability to do the very thing that the union exists to do...support and defend our members in the workplace.
So perhaps it's time for a reality check? :cuppa

So who are the good guys?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

The usual suspects are pretty quiet on the subject - I'm surprised we haven't had a Don Quixote like figure riding to the rescue. Wonder what the next conference will be like? I should think there ought to be a "hard done by" conference for those who feel cheated and let down by the current leadership and union organisation.
