Great. Wheres the update in 60 seconds from the CWU's Terry Pullinger?? How about....We agreed a watered down pension deal because Royal Mail said the current one was unaffordable. We also had an agreement for a SWW that Royal Mail pulled out of and said is unaffordable. Mail volumes may have declined but posties are actually performing more work in terms of office revisions that have led to much bigger duties with additional year round lapsing thrown on top for good measure. I would expect that we also personally deliver well over 50% more parcels than what we did in 2004 as well.

sdd came into effect years ago when we gave up 2nd deliveries
with the claim from mgmt it didnt matter if we took 8 letters to a door it takes the same time as delivering 1
so we are now in the reverse position
it doesnt matter how many letters we carry its how many points we deliver to
and their is no way they have halved in fact more delivery points added every year
blows their myth about decline
and isnt d2d counted as they were built into workload to accommodate workload
is our cwu not clever enough to fight them on these points

Letters are in decline, it's easy to see from the number of boxes that we put through sequencing outside of Xmas pressure. The only time that batches get changed is when a batch hits the limit for delivery points and it's very rare for that to happen.

our mail centres only do mon tues sequencing for us rest gets done in delivery office for now (glasgow) so mail centres dont see the full picture

Something weird going on there, they should be sequencing every day. is your office an MPU? If your office is an MPU I wonder if the DOM has requested for your office to sequence it's own mail on the other days.

In any case the MC managers can look up for figures on Automis so they've still got the full picture

Exactly that. If you do the job properly with parcels on the duties, it actually take MORE time now!

Letters might well be in decline but that doesn't make the delivery job any quicker or easier, it still takes just as long to walk up a driveway and deliver one letter as it did to deliver 3 or 4 to that address.
