It looks like it went to Wick which is counted as a Highlands office. So I don't think its lost, just delayed. If you have twitter I would try contacting them @royalmailhelp they may be able to throw some light on it.

Ah, but Wick DO serves KW1 - 14 but I am in KW15 - 17 area with the Pentland Firth separating us and I don't think RM still have a mail boat this far north. Now seriously, even though my location is quite close to Wick, I think it will have to go back to Inverness MC to be put on a plane to get to Kirkwall DO? (That's the usual route my parcels take) According to the tracking info, it still has not arrive in Inverness though.TrueBlueTerrier wrote: ↑07 Jun 2021, 10:56

Re: Sent to wrong DO, tracking stops
You are assuming that the item is correctly addressed. If it was addressed to, say, KW5 instead of KW15, and there is no mention of Orkney in the address, then Wick DO may be scratching their heads trying to work out where the address is. RM get a lot of incorrectly addressed mail like this, it only takes the sender to miss one character from the Postcode and an item can be massively delayed.

Re: Sent to wrong DO, tracking stops
It is an Amazon order (as in a direct from Amazon not third party seller) and it says both Kirkwall and Orkney on line 2 and 3. It is an address that receive dozens of order a month and had worked for the past 6 years as the address label was printed directly from the info I had input in my profile. I understand your point about possible misaddress, or misprint, or bits of address going missing, etc... I am just wondering why after 7 days there are no updates at all on the tracking, not even a return to sender if no one can figure out where it really is supposed to go.Snaggletooth wrote: ↑07 Jun 2021, 14:35You are assuming that the item is correctly addressed. More importantly, if it is indeed lost at this point so that I will reorder (or not if it is not lost). Don't want to have 2 sets of the same item turning up at once.

As with all e-commerce, if it doesn't turn up it is Amazon's problem, not yours. You should be talking to Amazon's customer services about them providing a replacement or a refund.

Re: Sent to wrong DO, tracking stops
Actually Amazon had already assume that it was lost and refunded me. They also told me that if it turns up, I can keep it. I can obviously reorder but do not want both to turn up at the same time if it was not indeed lost in the first place.Snaggletooth wrote: ↑07 Jun 2021, 18:55As with all e-commerce, if it doesn't turn up it is Amazon's problem, not yours. You see the problem is we can't tell you it's lost as we are not an official site. All we are trying to do is give you an insight. The insight being it may be addressed incorrectly and wandering around the network without being scanned. In most circumstances similar to this the item does eventually turn up.alvinlwh wrote: ↑07 Jun 2021, 22:59Actually Amazon had already assume that it was lost and refunded me.
