General Overview
We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. If resourcing issues, associated self-isolation and safety measures prevent this, we’ll deliver at least every other day. It’s only in extreme cases – where offices are severely affected by absence levels - that this may not be possible.

More information is available in our Related help links to the right of this page.

You can also sign up here Opens in new window to receive information by email if your postcode area is affected.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Movement of mail through our network
Royal Mail operates an air, rail and road network to move letters and parcels between our distribution hubs, mail processing centres and delivery offices around the UK. Here we let you know about any significant issues in our logistics operation.

Air
Our air services all operated to schedule over the past 24-hours.

Rail
A train travelling between the Warrington Rail terminal and the Scottish Distribution Centre was delayed last night. As a result, a small amount of mail posted in the North of England and North Wales, due for delivery today in Scotland, may arrive slightly later than anticipated.

Road
A vehicle travelling from the Tyneside Mail Centre to the Yorkshire Distribution Centre was delayed last night. As a result, a small amount of mail posted in the North East of England, due for delivery today in the rest of the UK, may arrive slightly later than expected.

Mail Centres
Our mail centres all operated to schedule over the past 24-hours.

Deliveries today
Due to resourcing issues, associated self-isolation and safety measures, deliveries in some areas are likely to be disrupted this week. We aim to deliver at least every other day in these areas, though this may not always be possible in offices temporarily affected by very high levels of absence. These offices are the exception and are listed below.

We're sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. We’re working hard to deliver as comprehensive a service as possible with the resource available to support these offices. And we’re ensuring we prioritise the delivery of Covid-19 vaccination letters and test kits.

No offices currently listed as exceptions

Services in Dunstable (LU5, LU6) today
The Customer Service Point at our Dunstable Delivery Office, located at 59 High Street North, Dunstable, LU6 1JH, is closed today for health and safety reasons, due to water damage caused by a roof leak.

If you’ve had a 'Something for you' or 'Fee to Pay' card left, you can avoid any unnecessary trips by booking a redelivery at royalmail.com/redelivery.

Alternative posting facilities can be accessed at the Queensway Post Office, 13 Queensway, Dunstable, LU5 4ET. Details of the opening times can be found at

Air
Last night the flight from East Midlands to Exeter didn't take off on time. This was due to the late arrival of vehicles in to East Midlands airport carrying mail for the flight and busy road conditions around the airport. Rail
Our rail services all operated to schedule over the last 24-hours.

Road
Last night a vehicle travelling from Leeds Mail Centre arrived late into the National Distribution Centre in Daventry. As a result, a small amount of mail posted in the BD, HD, HG, HX, LS, WF and YO postcode areas yesterday for delivery today in parts of the South East, South of England, South West and South Wales may arrive later than anticipated.

The mail centre below reported not all mail was processed to schedule overnight, and as a result may be delivered later than expected.

Northern Ireland Mail Centre: Some mail posted yesterday in other parts of the UK for delivery today in the BT postcode area.

General Overview
We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. If resourcing issues, associated self-isolation and safety measures prevent this, we’ll deliver at least every other day. It’s only in extreme cases – where offices are severely affected by absence levels - that this may not be possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Carbis Bay St Ives Cornwall - G7 Summit 11-13 June
In preparation for the G7 Summit which takes place from Friday 11 June until Sunday 13 June, for security purposes, we'll be sealing some postboxes from Saturday 5 June. These boxes are situated at: Porthrepta Road, Old Lelant Post Office Box, Treloyhan, Carbis Bay Railway Station and Richmond Way. These postboxes will re-open on the morning of Monday 14 June.

Access in and around the area will be restricted between Monday 7 June and Sunday 13 June 2021. During this time, we will not be allowed access to deliver any mail to affected customers. All affected customers have been notified, and alternative arrangements are in place to enable those customers to collect their mail. There may be disruption to delivery times for other customers living in the area because of local security restrictions.

You can see a map of the area affected by visiting the Devon and Cornwall Police webpage

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Deliveries today

We aim to deliver at least every other day in these areas, though this may not always be possible in offices temporarily affected by very high levels of absence. These offices are the exception and are listed below.

Services in Streatham (SW16) today

Dear Customers

We're very sorry to advise a serious incident occurred last night close to the Streatham Delivery Office. Due to the Police cordon that's in place, our staff cannot gain access to the office and it will remain closed today.

As a result, deliveries will be minimal today, Friday 11 June. Priority will be given to new Special Delivery and Tracked 24 items processed last night and diverted to a neighbouring office.

The Customer Service Point will also be closed during this period of disruption.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these circumstances beyond our control. We'll add any new information to our Service Updates page as and when available.

Kind regards,

Royal Mail Customer Services
