It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

They did however thoughtfully provide us with a snow shovel that can double as a paddle.

Re: no delivery supplement, refuse D2Ds?
I'm a new start and it's def not that, guess it's changed in a couple months lol alot of confusion with royal mailted_e_bear wrote: ↑29 Oct 2023, 15:34Correct, the new rate is £12.29, then overtime over 40 hours at 1.25x so 12.29 x 1.25 = £15.36The Postman wrote: ↑29 Oct 2023, 15:09And the enhanced rate after 40 hours is still less than a delivery postie on the older contract would earn per hour.SMS1969 wrote: ↑29 Oct 2023, 09:19The overtime rate after 40 hours is, they are on much lower pay before that kicks in.guardianangel wrote: ↑29 Oct 2023, 08:16Their hourly rate is more than the ones on the old contract, go figure a union who agreed a deal with this in place tells you everything about this company and union.
I've just worked out my rate taking into account we get delivery supplement and paid breaks works out at around £15.50.

You work in the London area, or are a mvg driver. You don't need to message me.guardianangel wrote: ↑30 Oct 2023, 14:23You should be ,the pay works out roughly the same only you work an extra 3 hours but do get paid a better overtime rateSmoothbackground wrote: ↑30 Oct 2023, 09:23I am on a “new” 40-hour contract. I am paid £14.60 per hour, with overtime paid at £18.25 per hour. I’m more than happy with that – even if I have unpaid breaks and no delivery allowance.
