Tory MP 'outraged' that utility the Tories privatised won't do what he tells them to anymore

What's next, "I stopped using RM stamps when they portrayed that Bowie idiot on them last year.."
You two need to develop a sense of perspective....as if anyone in that Big Wide World outside of RM actually gives a wossname what's on the stamps.... :left:

I want Admiral Ackbar on a stamp

="RobertT"]We all know that nobody really uses stamps anymore, but that isn’t the issue under discussion! :arrrghhh

No, but if nobody really use stamps anymore then your premise is somewhat pointless.
It's another of those situations where pragmatism will over-rule principle...if there actually is a principle in the claim that businesses won't use certain RM stamps for fear of upsetting someone...

Well we're coming up on 2021, which is 100 years since the partition of Ireland ... That was certainly and undeniably momentous occasion that "shaped the lives" of many people, so should we have a stamp for it? I mean it would just be a stamp and not a political statement? :left: And I'm sure Sinn Féin, dissident republican terrorists, Irish Nationalists in general (on both sides of the border) and the Government of the Republic of Ireland would all agree with that position?

Tman wrote:Most people probably don't know what's on the current stamps and care even less. There's no Snowflakery in the hard world of business.

Well if no-one's going to care about a Brexit stamp, why should the Royal Mail go to the expense of designing and producing one? Shouldn't they concentrate their efforts and money on things that people will/do care about?

Indeed they should spend money on important things, but the debate was about not doing it in case it upsets people enough to take their business elsewhere.

Stamps were planned for 50 years since the partition of Ireland, or rather 50 years of the Stormont Parliament, in 1971 but that issue was abandoned and replaced by three stamps of "Ulster '71" paintings. :cuppa

No it wasn't.
They're not doing it end of story.
Only you wanted to know why not ( everyone else kind of figured it out ) but you didn't give any valid reasons why they should.
All you did was tell everyone they're wrong.
That isn't a debate, it's just vintage Tman.

Errr no, that's the version you preferred to post as it suited your particular viewpoint. I rather doubt that the know the views of "everyone".

Why do you have that nonsense tag line about "debate etc" under your posts when clearly you don't really want to?
The standard "I'm right and you're not debating properly" stance is getting stale now.
