Surface Mail as it used to be.

In the good old days lots of surface mail was taken on long sea journeys. Does any mail still board ship these days? If so, to which Continents?

I work at HWDC and whenever we ask, we're told that surface mail is indeed taken to Southampton (or Liverpool or wherever) and put on a ship. It goes everywhere, so if you have a friend in Sydney, pop them a card via surface mail and presto - two months later - it'll turn up in their mail box.

This one is still in service to the UK outpost of St Helena which has no airport although one is under construction so I would imagine when the airport is built the mail will go by plane but the ship is set to stay in service after the airport construction.
