Hello from an impending Christmas Casual Worker!

Post by KiwiCat »

Hello!
I am starting work as a Christmas Casual this Saturday and I am very very nervous....
It'll be my first job and I am on the waiting list for an Autism assessment so I don't know how I'll cope...

Don't be too worried Royal Mail has quite a few posties on the Autism scale, such as Aspergers etc. Managers should be used to dealing with it in a sensitive manner. You might enjoy it but be prepared for a hectic 4 weeks.

Hi KiwiCat! I am apparently on the lower end of the autism spectrum. I think it probably means you will probably be better at learning and sorting mail, which is what you will be mostly doing. Don't be afraid of asking questions if there is anything you are not sure about.

no offense, but the typical standard of casual workers sets a very low bar, im sure you`ll do great.
