HGV Driver

Post by hu »

Good Morning Royal Mail Family,

I applied in may and now I have what should be a dream job driving a big red truck :)

only been driving for 2 and half years I never thought I would get in even with the crisis on with driver shortages - but the poor chap that hit the barrier on assessment day was escorted out so its not down to driver shortage are you good enough,i feel his pain as he had been driving for over 15 years a little scrape on the wagon game over :(

Royal mail has one of the toughest selection processes out of all the companies out there fact.

Enough of my waffle.

Glad to be part of the family :nana

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Even if a seasoned RM driver has the tiniest ding they are taken off driving until a re-assessment by a driver coach can be carried out. Make sure you check vehicle at start of duty for any new looking damage, if you don’t make note of it and next driver does, you’ll probably get blamed ! ! ! At least take a picture with phone so there’s a time and date reference to prove it was there before you used vehicle.
