Hi folks. I started with royal mail as a postie on Monday. I've just had a look at my first payslip, its says my basic pay rate is £412, but only received £332 before tax and ni. Am I right in thinking I should get £412 every week for doing my basic hours?
TIA.

Re: PAY RATE?
No £412 is the amount a full time 37 hour postie would be on. For some reason it shows this on the pay slip. You must be on lower part time hours, hence you get £332.It confused me when I joined too!

Re: PAY RATE?
I should add that you will be on a starting rate for 6 months, then a higher rate for another six then after a year you will be on the top rate.

Ah I get it. Bit of a let down! Lol. I'll need to learn the job pretty quickly, I couldn't live on that wage every week!
