Post Office abbreviations from 1950

Post by LizFox »

Hi All

My only connection with the Post Office is that my mam was a Post Lady during the second world war.

However, I'm doing a bit of genealogy for a friend and came across this from the 1950-1951 UK, Postal Service Index of Appointments :
Reg. No. of Nomination Paper 113176
WILLOCK Margaret M
Situation to which Nominated Tpnot
Birmingham
Minute No. A14156/51

Her mum was Margaret M WILLOCK born 1934 and Birmingham so this could have been her. I was just wondering what Tpnot might stand for and would be grateful for any help.

Thanks in advance

Liz
