Royal Mail workers hold unofficial walkouts in Medway and Paisley

Members of the CWU union struck at the Medway mail centre in Kent and a delivery office in Paisley, Scotland.

CWU officials said the workers in Medway had taken action against the “unacceptable behaviour” of Royal Mail managers.

And the union’s Glasgow and District Amal branch praised the strikers in Paisley for “acting as a union to defend each other”.

The walkouts came after CWU members threatened to strike over issues including bullying, with a vote at their national postal conference last week.

The motion said that there is a “growing toxic workplace culture” in Royal Mail offices. It said the CWU could launch a national ballot for industrial action if an agreement signed between union leaders and bosses last year broke down.

here we go again -same old same old !!
not the only depots either this year I believe
Saw Mr Pullingers video re meeting senior management this week
He took Ms Ashford around the depots recently -but not heard a lot from the lady in question ???
in fact we don't hear much from much senior/middle management at all nowadays do we ???
shares on the slide again-sickness in depots up if ours anything to go by !!!!
keeping the hospitals busy re operations and doctors in surgeries with same old same old !! ailments !!!
morale ?? cant answer that ?? -just the banter that keeps us going
people leaving the job in decent numbers now I see -not difficult to see why !!!
said it often-understand people at the top paid well, but old adage EARN IT EARN IT EARN IT
the job evolves and aware we have to adapt/change but an unhappy/unmotivated workforce wont get the job done
most of us do care-no matter what we say or do-but comes a time when you say enough is enough
if Mr Pullinger does not get the answers and solutions required
i guess the time has come for that word strike to rise to the surface/be dusted down and put on the table !!!
even in this modern business world that word may never go away
hopefully common sense will prevail for all concerned
