Higham Hill Post Office will close later this month as the service prepares to move to a new location.
The current office, at 256 Higham Hill Road, in Walthamstow, will close on August 23, before a new service opens at 317 Higham Hill Road on September 1.
The new branch will offer services such international parcels, local collect and home shopping returns, cash withdrawals, Moneygram, bill paying, insurance and mortgages.
Michael Brennan, Post Office network operations area manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
“We are confident that this vibrant Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.”
The move comes amid controversy over a number of post office closures and relocations across Waltham Forest.
Post Office announced plans in January to close 37 Crown offices across the UK, including its Walthamstow High Street and its Lea Bridge Road branches.
The company says a wide range of services will still be available at the new site, a claim which has been rejected by the Communication Workers Union (CMU).
The union, which represents front-line Post Office staff, has said the plans will see services cut and employees losing their jobs to less experienced workers.
The CMU is organising a series of demonstrations to protest against the plans.
