A source close to the company told the MoS: 'Thompson is in panic mode. The costs will be mad and there is already a shortage of vans across the UK, so the question is whether any vans will even be available. Their planning for Christmas has been a disaster.'

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Rest assured they are fully complicit in what is/has been happening for quite a while now.fb1969 wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 19:38Hyrrokkin wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 19:35
RM are now on a race to the bottom to be exactly like Amazon/Hermes/Yodel etc etc - penny pinch to save money for higher payouts to shareholders while bullying their staff to do more and more for less money in less time with no backup or equipment.etc etc
They are more than just incredibly incompetent they are corrupt to the core
And it has been done under the noses of the CWU, or the CWU top level are in on it.

Don't see how our office could handle more vans tbh. There's no room in the yard to park every van as it is. Plus, everyone trying to get out in the morning is a sight to behold.... You could be ready to load at van at say 9.00am but not actually get to a loading bay until 9.25am.

Our vans are parked up every day by 2.30 and not used again till 8 next morning , that's ridiculous.

At our DO we have new starters & agency coming in at 1pm for all the LAT'S and any parcels/overweight's left behind on various walks. I can understand it's more cost effective that way than hiring dozens of vans but the flip is many don't know the areas and it's dark with 2.5 hours of their shift remaining.
