A ROYAL Mail van was overturned and blocking a road near a busy roundabout this morning (Tuesday).

Police officers cordoned off both ends of Claines Lane following the crash which left the van on its side.

It happened on the section of road between Claines roundabout and the junction with Cornmeadow Lane at just before 10am.

Worcester News has been in touch with Royal Mail, West Midlands Ambulance Service and West Mercia Police.

We will update the story as soon as we get a response.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low life ***** they have always been.

Royal Mail release statement about van that ended up overturned in Claines

THE DRIVER of a Royal Mail van managed to walk away unscathed after it overturned near a busy roundabout.

The driver was shaken but had no serious injuries after the mail delivery van was left on its side on Claines Lane yesterday morning (Tuesday).

Royal Mail has said it will now carry out an investigation to find out why the vehicle ended up overturned just before 10am.

Police officers blocked off the road between the Claines roundabout and the junction with Cornmeadow Lane.

A Royal Mail spokesperson said: "We can confirm that one of our vehicles was involved in an accident on Claines Lane in Worcester.

"Our driver was examined and although shaken, did not suffer any injuries.

"The mail in the van has been recovered and delivered.

"We are carrying out an internal investigation into how this happened."

West Mercia Police said it was called at 9.30am yesterday (Tuesday, November 23) to a report of a van having overturned on Claines Lane, Worcester.

The spokesman said: "The road was closed while officers attended the scene.

"The driver of the van was treated for a minor injury and no other injuries were reported.

"The van was recovered and the road reopened around 11am."

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it was called by police at 9.30am to reports of a crash.

The spokeswoman added: "One ambulance attended and treated the driver of a van, a man, who had sustained minor injuries. He was discharged at the scene."
