35 hour contract

Is a 35 hour contract part-time or full-time and is there any signed of agreements to back up the answer as it all seems to be down to interpretation

I'm on 36.5 but classed a Part-time.Go figure.
So more then likely you could be 35 and PT.

Anything less than 38hrs in RM is classed as part time

From the four pillars agreement;

"New full time employees from October 2018, recruited either from existing employees or new recruits in the core
OPG grade, will be on a 35 hour week at the current hourly basic pay rate with pro-rata allowances aligned to the
current full-time conditioned hours".

Has anyone got a link to the signed off four pillars agreement as my manager is basically claiming that it doesn't exist

Could it be here:

Which provides a link to:

Not sure if this is the final one that was 'Signed Off' after the ballot result.

Yeah I have provided these to the manager but he wants to see one signed by someone from Royal Mail not the CWU

I'm sure HR would be able to furnish you with evidence that you're full time but whether your Dim would then move the goalposts to some new more unattainable proof we can only guess. Where is your office rep in all this?

This link to the Managers Briefing Pack re-states;
"...But, we now have a negotiators’ agreement in principle (“the agreement”) with the CWU. The union is recommending that its members vote in favour of the agreement."

A commitment to move towards a 35-hour week by 2022.
From October 2018, new full-time colleagues will be recruited on a 35-hour week.

Yes it say the new full time contract is 35 hrs. It's bullshit. You won't get the same pay as a 38 hour postie or you would be on a higher pay. So it affects your pension, sick pay, Xmas bonus ect. You are still part time at 35 hours. Phone HR. They will confirm it. You can't have 2 different full time hours, unless on different contracts and pay which is not the case.

I can only repeat that when existing colleagues hours at my RDC were raised to 35 they were initially given a contract that was worded as part-time. On contacting HR the wording was changed to full-time.

If the shorter working week of 35 hours is eventually achieved, all colleagues would be classed as full-time. In that scenario if the colleagues at present on 35 hours were classed as part-time, they would change to full-time.

I agree this has caused confusion.

EDIT;
Royal Mail & CWU Joint Communication

Several questions have been raised recently in relation to the introduction of the Shorter Working Week, the reduction to 38hrs and the new 35hr full time contracts. As a result meetings have taken place between Royal Mail & CWU to provide joint clarification to the
issues that have been raised. The purpose of this joint document is to provide clarity on the most frequently asked questions:

1. With effect from 1st October 2018, 35hrs is the contract we will use for all future full time OPG contracts (whether they be new recruits or part time uplifts from existing employees).

2. Employees on the new 35hr contracts will be listed on PSP as full-time employees but using a different position code to that used for our full-time employees on 38hr contracts.
