There is a review from Of Com on Royal Mail’s efficiency and this will help determine the review of the USO review which has been bought forward to 2020 from 2022.

Ofcom's Annual Plan 2019/20

3.28 In the next financial year, in addition to our current work programme, we will:
• Carry out a review of Royal Mail’s efficiency. This work will give us more insights into
the likely future sustainability of the universal postal service. We intend to provide our
latest view on the sustainability of the universal postal service in Q3.

January. - Average Pay on Leave

“A preliminary hearing for the purposes of case management shall be listed at Bristol as soon as possible after 1 January 2020”. This in effect means that unless a National Agreement is reached by the end of this year, a collective employment tribunal will take place in early 2020 where the Union’s claim for average pay on annual leave will be heard. This is a major achievement for the Union and its members.

Amendment to January date Average Pay on Leave ;

Due to the sheer volume of Employment Tribunals that have been lodged in England and Wales (it is estimated that the current number is around 2,000) a request was made by the Tribunal to extend the stay on these claims until 1st March 2020.

April. Pay. - The next pay review date will be 1st April 2020.


May. - Complainants v Angard / royal mail

Miss Raczynska & 51 Ors – v (1) Angard Staffing Solutions Limited & (2) Royal Mail Group Limited (case numbers: 1800275/2019 & 51 Ors)".

"The claim will be held by an Employment Judge at Montague Court 101 London Road, Croydon, Surrey, CR0 2RF, on Friday, 1st May, 2020, at 10:00 am.....".

That will depend on whether the major shareholders think Mr Back has done a good job and is taking the business in a good direction. We would say he is dragging RM and our jobs into the gutter but I don't think the shareholders will be on our side.

It is fair to say that those in the 'top jobs' come in for a lot of criticism on this forum:-

pauper's graves and workhouses for rees-mogg's and boris bumble's underclass, anyone? servitude and modern slavery for bezos, Ashley and Back?

(in last 10 years) 46% child poverty (now) and 170% rise in homelessness in the 5th richest country in the world! 17% payrise for the queen and 9% cut in corporation tax: meaning that companies pay less in tax @ 19% than anyone receiving the State Pension,Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA),Carer’s Allowance,contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance (ESA),Incapacity Benefit (from the 29th week you get it),Bereavement Allowance,pensions paid by the Industrial Death Benefit scheme,Widowed Parent’s Allowance,Widow’s pension which are ALL TAXED at 20%.
Tory Austerity policy has killed 140, ooo (one hundred and forty thousand people) since 2010 and was paid for entirely by Welfare reform.

We are not in this together. They are culling us off to benefit the rich and still, there is such a thing as working class/underclass tory voters?????? WTF!

if all you are receiving is the state pension i don't believe you will be taxed at all as it's currently well bellow the tax threshold, I would say though ,if you are correct, the Queen getting that pay rise is ridiculous. Also, if corporation tax was raised substantially, who do you think would pay for it? the consumer of whatever that company did, that's who. Or they would base themselves elsewhere, taking the jobs with them. Are you really saying 46% of all children are in poverty? or is that just the families on benefits with 4,5,6 kids in tow and overweight parents who smoke and go down the pub?

Poverty is a relative term. When my father was a child they lived in a wooden structure in a field with no electricity, gas, running water, and very basic toilet facilities. Some people say they are living in poverty when they have mobile phones etc nowadays.
