Political Fund Rebate
The NEC has had concerns both about the amount of money in Branch Political Fund accounts and branches who have not attempted to support by affiliation, local Constituency Labour Parties. Monies have reached levels that were never envisaged by the NEC and therefore they have agreed to regularise procedures on these matters.
The following process will formally come into effect:-
* From the beginning of May 2007, Branches who have not spent the previous year’s political rebate will not be allocated a further year of rebate. The only exception will be where branches can prove they have been saving for a specific political purpose or campaign.
* Branches who are not affiliated to local Constituency Labour Parties will not qualify for the Political Fund Rebate.
Rebates shall only be used to further the political objectives of the Union and the aim of this process is to ensure that branches do actually utilise their political fund monies to that effect.
Silly question, but what does this mean?

It means less political dosh for branches that do not affilate to all CLP'S in their boundaries. I presume the rebate would go into branch political funds rather than normal funds, but will check it out and report back.
