Re: LTB 51/26
So 2 weeks into the intensive talks they have agreed to 4 weeks of intensive talks.
It is a bit like watching Wolves v Burnley.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: LTB 51/26
Can somebody also post the letter sent to Royal Mail?
I thought there was a Government Postal Minister or at least a Minster responsible for post, why's he taking a back seat?

Re: LTB 51/26
On a positive note it at least stops RM using EA for another 4 weeks, and it could well stop them using it indefinitely, for all the criticism levelled at the CWU they have now managed to get the Government involved with the proposed ODM. RM have messed up big time as if they'd just continued with normal service levels they could have well got away with introducing the ODM by EA as now it's looking unlikely unless they want to take on the Government as well as the CWU.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑17 Feb 2026, 16:49So 2 weeks into the intensive talks they have agreed to 4 weeks of intensive talks.

The thing that really annoys me is "given the seriousness of the situation"

At least we are going to find out the companies position over the next day or so, rather than have it drag out. I agree though, this 'process' they follow to release information is totally outdated - the members who this affects the most should be told before anyone else.Neverwasadoor wrote: ↑17 Feb 2026, 17:15The thing that really annoys me is "given the seriousness of the situation"

Just remember this Oral evidence: Royal Mail and the Post Office, HC 1045
And what happened afterwards, f**k all.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Intense talks always makes me chuckle. The union has been in “intense talks” for about 6 years now and bugger all comes from it. Maybe they should start relaxed talks and see if there’s more luck in that. Or just have Ward and Kretinsky take part in a televised UFC fight, winner gets all the concessions they want from an agreement and any profit made goes towards subsidising the USO for the next year.
Ok I’ve went a bit stupid but this whole situation is now stupid.

No point….the knockout blow was delivered couple years ago when ward ignored the 97% mandate.toonshola wrote: ↑17 Feb 2026, 18:02Intense talks always makes me chuckle. Just come back and tell us when you have stopped this ODM nonsense and equalised all contracts. Till then, I don’t want your continual waffle.

In those two weeks of talks they also had to come to an agreement on what biscuits should be available throughout the four weeks of talks

Re: LTB 51/26
Sounds like he's not also walking all over the Government if they've given him another 4 weeks to try and come to an agreement, this to me sounds like a Judge sending two waring parties out of the court room to come to some agreement or they'll make one neither party might like!
