Could anyone give any advice or help with regards to applying for a job as a postman with Royal Mail, i signed up a few months ago to receive any job alerts via email, i did apply for a job back last year as a postman and was quite shocked after i filled in my application (been working in a factory for 24 years and not used to filling in application forms and applying for jobs...
...
...) that the next stage of the application was a online test, the first one was ok where you match up the postcodes, but i found the second one a bit diffucult (with the time they give you against a stopwatch) trying to match up the different street names and postcodes which were jumbled up to make it even more diffucult against a clock on the side of the screen, sometimes by the time you tried to match them up, the time had elapsed and the next one had popped up.I did show it to a postman i know and even he couldn't match them up in the time allowed, anyway after a few practice tests i done the two tests, then completed a personality questionaire and submitted them in, as i said the first one was ok but i did struggle a bit with the second one, i waited weeks for a reply and was told that i had been unsuccessful, so do you need to pass these online tests with very high scores with the Assessment Specialist firm PSL to have a chance of getting to the interview stage...???...and can you find out why you were unsuccessful (so you can try and improve your chances for future job alerts)one other thing i noticed on the form as well was have you been unemployed for the last 6 months, so i was thinking do they favour people who have been out of work longer, any advice or guidance on applying or what they are looking for would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks...
