Hi,one of the posters said in an earlier post that u only pay tax on a share up to£3.55 if u sell your shares.
Does anyone know if this is true?
Some lads at my office who sold their shares, said that they received more then they thought,as they expected to lose around 32%,but got an extra £200-300 when they received their share money, but they did not no why
would be greatful if anyone knows

You will pay Tax and NI on all the of shares regardless of the price BUT you only pay 12% NI on the 1st £827 you earn that week and the rest is 2% NI. That's why people got an extra £200/£300 more than they thought.

Hope this helps.

RM shares are very low at the moment so if you can hold off from selling I would.

Mark

Excuse my stupidity here but would that mean you could sell your shares in multiple amounts of say 100 and as long as your total combined with your wage that week was less than £827 you'd only pay 2% tax on the total?

Edited. Ignore me. Misread that.

I sold my shares back in Oct for £4.86 each. I can confirm you definitely only pay tax & NI on £3.55 of each share. My other £1.31 of each share (£803)was free from tax and NI. Equinity fee was under £20 but can't remember exact fee.
