Chinese packets sorting method

28 Jul 2017, 08:45

Since November 2016 drop bag frames were introduced as an alternative way to process Chinese packets on the primary sort. They (Bags) are then processed at secondary sort into ALP Sleeves for dispatch to other RDC's.

Can anyone inform me if this method (using DBF's) of processing is standard. I am curious as my line manager says output on the primary sort is below average & wonder if this way of sorting is efficient.

Bags are not allowed to be tipped into full sized sleeves, only into mini sleeves or onto a conveyor belt or tipping table

We now tip bags into mini-yorks at the secondary sort stage.

I have documented on here my pursuit to stop an unsafe act of tipping bags into a full size yorks. As a result this practice eventually ceased after intervention from "just say it", Moya Greenes office.

Anyway does any other RDC sort Chinese packets into drop bag frames ?
